2018/19 Change Over Dinner

Don and Ross

60th Anniversary Lunch

Don Williams & Ross McDonald cutting the cake at our 60th birthday celebration at the Glenelg Golf Club. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our service to the community, with current and former members of the Club, and our Friends of Rotary. We were inspired by our Guest Speaker, Sarah Brown, from Purple House, the headquarters of Western Desert Dialysis. Purple House provides (amongst other things) dialysis 'in country' rather than clients having to travel to the capital cities for their treatment, thus saving the government large sums of money. We presented Sarah with a cheque for $10,000, that will be used to purchase 10 cooling units for the dialysis machines.

Dream Cricket comes to SA.

Dream Cricket is an outing for children with disabilities, where they get to spend a fun day learning cricket skills and participating in a match. The unique feature of Dream Cricket is that anyone can play, regardless of their disability. This program has been operating in other states of Australia, but former district cricketer Rotarian Kevin Donaldson, was keen to bring this program to South Australia. On October 20, the Rotary Club of Edwardstown held SA's first Dream Cricket outing. The highlight of the day was when each participant received a medal.
